Eucalyptus leaves laze in the southern sun
Shading you from the sizzling heat of midsummer
A chameleon walks to where you lie
And takes a sip from your glass
A glass once filled with cold nectar of the country mangoes
Now empty
But for a few drops sticking to the side
Barely satisfy the overgrown lizard
You lie there reading
Oblivious of the world around you
Living in that book of poems
That give meaning to your life
The chameleon, now cool under the shade
Walks nearer you, and rests by your side
A summer day in the eucalyptus trees
You in one with nature
